Combat Aircraft

Leonardo plays a prominent role in major European and international defence aircraft programmes designed to deliver air superiority, protect borders and meet today’s requirements for security and national defence. A century of experience in aeronautical manufacturing, combined with advanced capabilities for system development and integration, allow Leonardo to take a leading position in programmes ranging from the AMX to the Tornado, the Eurofighter Typhoon to the F-35 – and to develop proprietary products such as the M-346 Fighter Attack. Research and innovation in today’s new technological enablers, such as digitalisation, Artificial Intelligence, autonomy, propulsion and electrification, and in advanced materials, make Leonardo the ideal partner of choice to develop the manned and unmanned air defence systems of the future.
